UVA Wide Receiver Jahmal Edrine arrested on charges of rape, abduction

UVA Wide Receiver Jahmal Edrine was arrested on Thursday, February 5th after a grand jury indicted the 22-year-old with one count of rape and abduction. This concludes an investigation which began on August 25, 2025 after a victim reported being sexually assaulted the day prior.

Edrine, Virginia’s second-leading receiver in the fall, is no longer listed on the team’s roster or enrolled at the university. He is currently being held without bail at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.

He is scheduled to appear in Albemarle County Circuit Court on Monday, February 9. Follow WUVA for more updates.
