HANDS OFF UVA Rally

Members of the UVA and Charlottesville communities gathered on July 4th, 2025, to demonstrate their opposition to the sudden resignation of President Jim Ryan, following pressure from the Department of Justice. Residents, students, professors, and local leaders spoke at the event, denouncing the Trump administration’s recent actions and calling on the Board of Visitors to defend academic freedom and the University’s independence.
