UVA Faculty Senate REJECTS Trump’s “Compact for Academic Freedom in Higher Education”

In a meeting on October 3rd, the University of Virginia Faculty Senate passed a resolution opposing President Trump’s “Compact for Academic Freedom,” stating that it goes against UVA’s values and likely violates state and federal law. WUVA’s Sophia Bangura explains why the compact has garnered criticism and speaks to students and faculty who attended the meeting.
