UVA Students Walk Out for Mahmoud Khalil

Students gathered in front of Madison Hall to protest the detention of Mahmoud Khalil, a 30-year old Syrian-born, U.S. permanent resident, and pro-Palestinian activist. The demonstration, attended by hundreds of students, featured an address from UVA Associate Professor of Law, Thomas Frampton. He rallied against the alleged political persecution of Khalil, the absence of a formal response from the University of Virginia, and the continued conflict between Israel and Palestine.
